Enrolment & Fees

  • All pupils are invited to a free trial class provided they have not attended a free trial before.

  • Fees are non refundable and must be paid in advance of the next term, by the given deadline.

  • Enrolment is ongoing and half a term’s notice is required in writing to withdraw your child. Should this not be given then the next term’s fees are payble.

  • Siblings/twins will receive a 10% discount off the younger child’s fees. No retrospective discounts will be offered.

  • Fees are not transferable from one family member to another.

  • Fees are subject to change.

Classes

  • In the event of absence, whether due to illness, or otherwise then refunds cannot be made.

  • Make-up classes can be taken for any missed classes. These must be taken during the term and only if space is available. Permission must be confirmed by the Principal.

  • Classes cancelled due to inclement weather will not be refunded or rescheduled.

Teaching / Timetable

  • All Butterfly Ballet staff have been DBS checked

  • Butterfly Ballet reserves the right to change the timetable or teaching faculty.

Child Safety / Illness & Injury

  • Butterfly Ballet endeavour to make sure your child is dancing in a safe and comfortable environment. You are responsible for ensuring that your child wears suitable attire and footwear for the class.

  • Butterfly Ballet reserve the right to not teach or send home a child who appears to be ill or unfit to participate in the class.

  • Butterfly Ballet teachers have the right to require your child to sit out a class or any part if they are disruptive so as to interfere with other children’s enjoyment or of benefit from the class. Butterfly Ballet reserve the right to exclude from further classes any child who is repeatedly disruptive in manner.

  • Butterfly Ballet do not accept any responsibility for and shall have no liability to your or your child for any loss or damage to property brought to or left on the premise.

  • Butterfly Ballet is not responsible for any injuries sustained prior to the beginning of class. Given the physical activities involved in ballet class pupils are exposed to the risk of injury. Butterfly Ballet and its employees are not responsible for and shall have no liability for personal injury or illness save for any caused by their negligence. By enrolling your child you are certifying they are in good health and capable of participating in the classes for which they are enrolled.

Privacy Policy & Copyright

  • Any personal information you supply will only be used by Butterfly Ballet for administrative purposes within the terms of the Data Protection Act 1998 and will not be shared with any third parties.

  • Filming and photography are not allowed during the term and with discretion of the teacher during parent watching week.

  • Unless otherwise known, for Nursery classes upwards parents are only permitted to watch class at the official end of term parent watching class.

  • From time to time Butterfly Ballet may take photos during classes for publicity purposes. If you have any questions or to opt-out please email info@butterflyballet.co.uk

  • All the dances, stories, characters and class content have been devised and choreographed by the Principal of Butterfly Ballet and are protected by copyright. You warrant that you will not copy or use, whether for your own benefit of that of others, the Butterfly Ballet classes or any part thereof.

By enrolling my child at Butterfly Ballet I confirm that I accept the terms and conditions.

Safeguarding and Child Protection Policy

1. Policy Statement

Butterfly Ballet is fully committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all children, young people and adults at risk who attend our classes, rehearsals, performances and events. We recognise our responsibility to protect those in our care from harm, abuse, neglect, and exploitation.

This policy applies to all staff, teachers, assistants, volunteers, contractors, parents/carers, and anyone else working on behalf of the school.

2. Policy Aims

• Protect children and young people from harm
• Provide staff and volunteers with clear guidance on safeguarding responsibilities
• Ensure timely and appropriate action is taken when concerns are raised
• Promote a safe, positive, and inclusive environment

4. Definitions

Child: Anyone under 18
Safeguarding: Protecting children from harm
Abuse: Physical, emotional, sexual abuse or neglect
Adult at risk: A person aged 18 or over who may be vulnerable

5. Roles and Responsibilities

Butterfly Ballet will appoint a Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL).

DSL responsibilities include:
• Responding to safeguarding concerns
• Making referrals where necessary
• Keeping secure records
• Ensuring staff training

6. Code of Conduct

• Treat all students with respect and dignity
• Maintain professional boundaries
• Avoid one-to-one situations where possible
• No inappropriate physical contact
• No private social media communication

7. Safer Recruitment

• Appropriate recruitment processes
• Enhanced DBS checks
• References checked
• Safeguarding induction

8. Recognising Safeguarding Concerns

• Disclosures
• Behaviour changes
• Signs of injury or distress
• Information from others

9. Reporting Safeguarding Concerns

• Report immediately to DSL
• Record concerns
• DSL decides next steps
• Referral to appropriate agencies if required

10. Confidentiality

• Information shared on a need-to-know basis
• Stored securely
• In line with data protection

11. Allegations Against Staff

Concerns must be reported to the DSL or Local Authority Designated Officer (LADO).

12. Photography and Online Safety

• Consent required for images
• Images stored securely
• No personal devices used

13. Policy Review

This policy will be reviewed annually.
