Rambert Grades is a contemporary dance syllabus for children age 8+. Focusing on technique, performance and creativity through set work and improvisation.

A fantastic class where children can learn the fundamentals of contemporary dance in a fun, open and supportive environment.

In the ever-evolving world of dance, RAD and other leading ballet organisations increasingly encourage dancers to train in Contemporary to develop a broader range of skills, movement qualities and styles. Contemporary training can complement ballet beautifully, helping dancers build confidence, creativity, musicality and freedom of movement.

Exams are available but are completely optional. Above all, this is a fun and creative class where dancers can explore, express themselves and enjoy moving!

We are also proud to be a certified Rambert Grades school, giving our dancers the opportunity to train within the internationally recognised Rambert Grades programme.

Lyrical dance is a blend of ballet, contemporary and jazz and focuses on fluidity and technique.

A style that makes every child (and adult!) want to dance!

In Lyrical classes, dancers develop a wide range of skills, including kicks, jumps, leaps, turns and floor-work, bringing them together in fun, dynamic and beautiful routines.

Dancers are encouraged to connect with the music and lyrics, using movement to express emotions, tell stories and develop their own individual style. The result is a class that is energetic, creative and expressive, and one that our dancers absolutely love!

Contemporary and Lyrical are taught within the same class, giving dancers the opportunity to explore both styles and enjoy the different qualities each brings.

Classes are available on Monday’s in Barnes and on Friday’s in Clapham Junction from age 8+.
